No LifeGroup Online Tonight

Just a reminder that we will not be meeting for LifeGroup Online tonight. Instead, enjoy the evening with your friends and family as we begin to celebrate the birth of our Lord.

We WILL meet next week (as to not go 2 weeks in a row without meeting). BUT due to New Year’s Eve — we’re going to meet on Thursday, January 1 at 8:30pm (CST) instead. We will resume meeting on our regular night on Wednesday, January 7 at 8:30pm (CST).

I would love to take this opportunity to ask you (those who have attended LifeGroup Online) why you come and what you think of it so far. Positives? Negatives? What would you like to see us do in the coming year? Share from your heart, that others might read from your experiences and decide to come check it out for themselves.

And in a more general question… from your experience, do online relationships work?

Oh and if you haven’t — add this to your blogs & sidebars to promote the heck out of this online community.

  1. I am bummed we are not meeting tonight…so I guess you could say I LOVE it so far :o) i really am enjoying the group. I think it works for us because we came in with no expectations. We have no reason not to be honest with one another. I see this as very different from something like say eharmony…there is no reason we need to impress one another so we can just be who we are. I think online friendships can really work…I know I have met some great friends this year who I do not know in my every day life who are an amazing source of encouragement and love to me.

I have really enjoyed the testimonies so far and look forward to hearing the rest. Then maybe we could each lead a week? Or maybe choose a book or book of the bible we might like. I am up for anything really.

Ok now that I have written a book….haha!

Merry Christmas Crystal! I hope you have a blessed time with your family and friends.

    Much love…

  2. Christy – those are great ideas. I can’t wait to see what this morphs into.

The element I love most is that I get to worship AND meet other people that are passionate about Jesus from all over the US (maybe all over the world, one day). It’s another way to celebrate our church.

I’ve been so impressed by the openness and realness in the testimonies so far (You and Stacey) and can’t wait to hear everyone else’s. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one struggling with certain things in life.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to join you on Thursday – I’ll be on vacation with the fam-fam and don’t know if I’ll have internet access. I’ll call or text you though.

  3. I think online relationships can work, but they should never be a replacement for real life in-your-face wrap-your-arms-around-each-other relationships. For me, there is something about looking someone in the eye and putting your hand on their shoulder when they are struggling that is missing in on-line relationships.

I love getting perspectives from people outside my circle of influence. I think it’s what first drew me to it. I came to the first 2 groups – didn’t come last week. I think it’s an amazing concept and it will be interesting to see what develops.

  4. I have enjoyed it. I think online relationships can work. I have met some people that have been a great encouragement to me and provided me with resources to help me look deeper into my life.

LifeGroup has been great for me. The worship aspect has been great – good job Jenni!! The testimonies are incredible so far. It amazes me what people go through in life. It is an encouragement to me in my walk. As for the future, I am trying not to have any expectations. I just know that I want to grow deeper in my relationship with Christ and gain a confidence in who He is and who I am in Him.
